I really like the question format, it's all organized into sections that make sense. I was able to just walk through it page by page and write in my details. It's pretty amazing, all the details, she really thought of every little thing that someone might need to take care of for me if I were ill or worse.
Our C.P.A. firm, Michael McGinnis, C.P.A., has utilized Nurse Terry Black's thorough and clever "end of life" planning booklet for some five years. This has been especially so with our clients with elderly cognition issues as well as other loss of life situations within all families such as young cancer death. As we're near to Palm Springs, our client demographic is half gay. Nurse Terry addresses issues peculiar to the LGBT communities. A recent example was Jim S. who died at the end of 2013. His partner, Alex M., had put "Caring" to full use. They'd lived together for 30 years. Alex was able to find everything from bank vault keys, password and use names and burial wishes. They'd planned it all together. In another human instance, we noted aspects of dementia in one of our male clients in his late 90's; behavior we'd not seen in the 7 years John H. and his wife, Adele H., have been with us. We conscientiously informed their adult children that their Dad needed a consultation with a neurologist. That was all done in an objective, cool yet smart manner. John H. died after 2 years of a varying form of Alzheimer's. Adele and her daughters had filled out Nurse Terry's booklet. They had a "road map" in their veil of grief.
This valuable tool helps and makes sense and is a natural for our firm to include in tax and planning services.
Medical offices re aging issues, funeral homes, trust and estate lawyers should all be carrying Caring Is Not Enough.
The alternative is banal and painful chaos.
I returned this book because it is designed for an elementary age group. It didn't meet my expectations
Looking for something for adults
It's ok, is pretty much is whatI needed. Very simple format. However, it's overpriced for what you get. Shouldn't have cost more than $7 or $8.
